Short tour itinerary
SEGUI LE ORME - STEP BY STEP
37 - PORTICO DEL MOSTACCIO
(Mostaccio
Porch)
It
is one of the ancient doors of the original roman wall. Drastically modified
in 1200, when the ogival arch and the mullioned window with two lights were
created. The base of the piers of the big internal arch, made with pink
stone, is a remain of the antique roman door, contemporary with the roman
wall. On your right you can see the Ubaldi palace (once Lambardi) with a
beautiful and elegant renaissance style portal. In the inner courtyard, in a
door’s lintel, we read: “Olim Triviae Templum” (Once temple of the Goddess
Diana Trivia). On your left you can admire a beautiful XV century façade,
part of the Petroni palace, and other mediaeval workshops.
